APW - Hamilton, Grade 400, 21J, 12S, 18K yellow gold OF original Hamilton case by Solidarity, signature banner inside rear, gold cuvette with 1934 presentation engraving, silvered dial, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, jeweled barrel arbor, DeLong style five tooth click, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#H1562. Gross weight of assembled watch 39.2 dwt (60.9 g). An elegant high grade watch, a portion of Hamilton's Grade 400 production was offered in four different styles of 18K gold factory cases and these examples of the Grade 400 cased in 18K were advertised as the "Tycoon Series." The case style of the present watch was known as the "Nobel," and this model was the rarest of the four Tycoon Series cases with a total production of only 85 examples in yellow gold and 53 examples in green gold.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some typical mild micro-fine scratches; nearly flawless dial with few pinpoint dark spots in visible portion, some perimeter scrape under bezel; excellent hands; case shows little wear, few short scratches near rear center, profuse micro-fine scratches throughout, small marring to band adjacent opening lip of rear, no dents or dings; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
